All new MacBook, new Air, shuttle driver pay rise

The completely rebuilt MacBook is all-metal, and has integrated antennas, a full-size edge-to-edge keyboard and an Apple-invented ‘butterfly mechanism’ for keys. The 12-inch Retina display boasts over 3.3 million pixels and is just 3.3 millimeters thin, making it the thinnest display ever built into a Mac.

MacBook Air updated with Broadwell CPUs, Thunderbolt 2 connectors, faster flash — Apple has updated its legacy MacBook Air lineup, bringing Intel’s new Broadwell processors to its notebook lineup, along with faster Thunderbolt 2 connectors. The larger 13-inch MacBook Air has also gained new flash memory that’s twice as fast as before. The new MacBook Airs ship starting today.

Apple shuttle bus drivers get significant pay raise — Contract workers who drive shuttle busses for workers commuting to Apple’s Silicon Valley offices are getting a 25% pay raise. Apple is kicking in the money to give the drivers the hourly pay rate increase, and said split shift workers will earn an even higher pay rate.
