More on iPad Pro, iOS 11, HomePod, new faces for watchOS 4

iPad Pro gains a 10.5-inch model, vastly improved power— Apple today unveiled new iPad Pro models. The 9.7-inch model is no longer an option, but there’s a new 10.5-inch version to take its place. he 10.5-inch model is genius, providing 20% more screen real estate than the 9.7-inch model at the same weight of the older model. The addition of the more powerful camera and the A10X Fusion chip will make both the iPad Pros quite a bit more useful as well. But the big difference will come this fall with the special features for iPad that are built into iOS 11.
The new customizable Dock makes iPad Pro with iOS 11 so much more like an Mac laptop with a touch screen that it’s not funny. Coupled with improved multitasking, Spaces on iPad, the Files app, multi-touch drag and drop, a document scanner for Notes and more integration with the Apple Pencil, and suddenly the iPad Pro gains functionality that is pretty incredible.
The new 10.5-inch Pro is physically almost exactly the same physical dimensions as the previous 9.7-inch Pro, just without the bezels. Now that the front of the tablet is almost entirely screen, it could be nearly an inch larger without being harder to hold. Or heavier.
You can watch the new iPad Pro commercial here.  The NZ prices appear to be from NZ$1099 for the new 10.5 inch and from BZ$1299 for the 12.9-inch.

Apple’s HomePod speaker — Apple also took the wraps off its much-rumoured HomePod, a competitor to so-called ‘smart speakers’ like Amazon Echo, later offering WWDC attendees a closer look at the device prior to an expected debut in December.
