WWDC invites, FileMaker 16, webcam guard, new Calendars


Apple sends out press invitations for WWDC keynote — Apple has sent out invitations to the press for its upcoming Worldwide Developer Conference and will (no surprise) kick things off with a keynote address on Monday, June 5, at 10am (US Pacific time).
WWDC 2017 will be held at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, California. The conference will run June 5-9 and focus on the latest versions of macOS, iOS, watchOS, and tvOS.

FileMaker 16 brings enhancements to Mac & iOS databases — Apple-owned FileMaker on Tuesday launched FileMaker 16, the latest edition of its database platform, including updates for Macs, iPhones, and iPads.

New Camera Guard app blocks the webcam and microphone on macOS — ProtectStar has introduced Camera Guard Professional 2017, a new safety software product for macOS.
The app is designed to ensure that no hacker, spy or malware can observe you or listen in on you, according to Chris Bohn, CEO of ProtectStar. With a single click, not only the camera, but also the microphone will be completely protected, he adds. Camera Guard Professional 2017 requires macOS 10.11 or higher.
