Gaming PC for Mac users, shipments and fiscals, Sony OLED HD TV


NVIDIA’s ‘GeForce Now’ lets Mac owners rent a high-end gaming PC in the Cloud — NVIDIA has announced an expansion of its GeForce Now game streaming platform, introducing support for both Mac and Windows. The service allows subscribers to play graphics-intensive games on lower-end hardware by “renting” NVIDIA’s high-end cloud servers and streaming the gameplay to a local device.

Gartner reckons global device shipments will remain flat until 2018 — Worldwide combined shipments of personal computers (PCs), tablets, ultramobiles and mobile phones are projected to remain flat in 2017, according to Gartner, Inc. Worldwide shipments for these devices are projected to total 2.3 billion in 2017, the same as 2016 estimates, adds the research group.
(Apple will reveal fiscal Q1 2017 results on January 31st. Apple celebrated monumental 2016 App Store growth, and registered $240M of sales on New Years Day alone.)

Sony introduces OLED 4K/UHD TV with Dolby Vision — For a long time, Sony has had an excellent reputation for building great TVs. However, until yesterday, only LG was selling those magnificent OLED 4K/UHD TVs. Now, Sony has joined the fray with its own branded OLED 4K/UHD sets, and they’re amazing. And not only HDR but Dolby Vision to boot.
