The iPhone Weather app – A deceptively simple and beautiful application — The preinstalled Weather app on the iPhone is one of the most beautiful apps around, reckons Marty Edwards. When you open it to look at the weather, it displays animated representations of weather conditions behind the text. If an area has rain, the graphic shows rainfall; with a thunderstorm, there are thick clouds and periodic lightning strikes that are quite bright. If it is a clear night, there is a beautiful star background with occasional meteors.

HiMirror Plus, a smart skin analyzer that points out all your wrinkles — This high-tech app-mirror has adjustable lighting, and a built-in camera gives you insight into your skin’s condition. HiMirror Plus promises to find and analyse all of your skin issues and tell you if they’re something to be concerned about.

Kanex announces GoPlay wireless game controllers for iOS devices — Kanex announced its GoPlay Series of portable wireless game controllers for iOS at this week’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. GoPlay SideKick, the first in the series, is a pocket-sized wireless game controller for the iPhone, iPad and Apple TV.

iOS-connected LEGO Boost will help children learn programming, building — Children will be able to bring their LEGO creations to life with the help of LEGO Boost, a new building and coding set that utilizes bricks with environment sensors, and a connected iOS application.
