Portraits in 7 Plus, Airplane mode, Belkin Rockstar, GoPro drone recall

Watch: iPhone 7 Plus Portrait Mode vs. DSLR — Apple with the recent release of iOS 10.1 enabled Portrait Mode on iPhone 7 Plus, allowing users to add a touch of artistic blur to their images by simulating an enhanced depth-of-field effect. AppleInsider compares the still-in-beta feature to a true prosumer DSLR, the Canon 5D Mark IV with full-frame sensor.

In iOS 10, Airplane Mode doesn’t turn off all radios (GPS, NFC) — With iOS 8.2 and earlier, Airplane mode in iOS would turn off all four radios in an iPhone: Bluetooth, Cellular, GPS and Wi-Fi. Starting in iOS 8.3, that changed with GPS. Plus, starting with iPhone 6, NFC is not disabled either.

Charge and listen on iPhone 7 with Belkin Lightning Audio + Charge RockStar — Think of it as a Lightning splitter with a specific purpose. If you’re looking for a way to charge your iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus, or use Lightning headphones and charge an older iPhone or iPad, this is the device for you.

Use your eyes and your ears to complete the whimsical puzzler Samorost 3 — If you’re looking for relief from the onslaught of half-baked mobile games in the App Store (like all those time-based freemium titles that beg you to nag your Facebook friends for extra credits) Samorost 3 is exactly what you need. Samorost 3 is a fully-developed and fully-illustrated full-length game that, quite frankly, is a steal at just NZ$7.49/US$5.

GoPro issues recall of Karma drone, in-flight power loss leads to crashes — Sports camera and drone manufacturer GoPro has issued a recall of the recently released Karma drone, after only 16 days on the market.
