Apple’s Swift Playgrounds for iPad ins in the App Store free — Apple released Swift Playgrounds for iPad yesterday alongside iOS 10, giving us the tablet-based developer learning tool first shown off earlier this year at the company’s Worldwide Developer Conference. The app teaches coding skills without needing any prior experience; it sort of gameifies the process. Swift Playgrounds for iPad is free and requires iOS 10. You can download it through Apple’s App Store.

Changes in iOS 10 — Control Centre has expanded to three panes, offering quick access to Music & Home. Understanding ‘Press Home to Open’ and ‘Press Home to Unlock’ in iOS 10. Apple has simplified HomeKit control with a dedicated Home app, giving people a central location to manage and control their HomeKit accessories.

iOS 10 Messages stickers — One of the cool new features in iOS 10 is Effects for the Messages app. Users can add a bit of flair to their iMessage chats with the use of Bubble Effects, which animate the message text bubbles, and Screen Effects, which add animated backgrounds to your chat window. If you don’t see this, a possible culprit is the Reduce Motion option in the iOS Accessibility Settings. You can make your own Stickers, as Jeff Gamet did.

Apple iWork suite with real-time collaboration tools released for iPhone, iPad — Alongside the iOS, watchOS, tvOS, and iTunes update, Apple has also released the iOS version of the iWork suite, now with cross-platform collaboration features.

Adobe’s new Lightroom for Mobile 2.5 ushers in a new era of raw shooting on iOS — The new version of mobile Lightroom coincides with the release of iOS 10 to offer a total raw photo workflow. You can now shoot in its DNG raw format for the first time with a new update to its Lightroom for Mobile iOS app running the newly released iOS 10.
