How to Join Apple’s iOS 10 and macOS Sierra Public Beta Program — If you love rushing in where angels fear to tread, or just want to start playing with iOS 10 and macOS Sierra before they’re officially available this fall, you can sign up for Apple’s public beta program. Here’s how. You’ll get access to pre-release versions come July, but keep in mind “beta” means “not ready for daily use on mission-critical devices.” [This is true – I ran the Beta on my only machine and suffered a major wifi outage it took me a day to sort out. More fool me, but I wanted to see what was coming and I only have one device … so be warned!]
Sierra (macOS 10.12) has dropped support for several Mac models (basically, anything from before 2009). Apple is introducing a new file system, APFS, with macOS Sierra. And here are the top 5 productivity enhancements from WWDC.

Siri for Mac: how it works in Apple’s macOS Sierra and what it’s capable of — macOS Sierra, revealed during Apple’s WWDC keynote on Monday, will be the first Mac operating system to include Siri. Although many people are familiar with how the virtual assistant works in iOS, there will be quite a few differences on desktops and laptops.
App Review Guidelines: The Comic Book — Apple developers often find that writing and testing an app is easier than actually getting the app approved by Apple. The company has a set of strict App Review Guidelines that are incredibly difficult to read through. So yesterday at the end of the Apple Design Award ceremony, the company announced it has made the App Review Guidelines a lot easier to digest by turning them into a comic book, which is here.
