New bird’s eye video of Apple Campus 2 Spaceship — Speaking to shareholders at the company’s Annual Meeting on Friday, Apple’s chief executive Tim Cook joked that he kept himself up to date on the progress of his Campus 2 “Spaceship” project by watching drone videos posted on the Internet. Apple leases Sunnyvale buildings, perhaps for its (rumored) car project — Apple has leased a former FedEx warehouse, an old Pepsi bottling plant, an old chip fab, and “innumerable nondescript” office and R&D buildings in Sunnyvale, California, reports the Silicon Valley Business Journal. The article hints that these may be used for Apple’s car project (a project that the company hasn’t officially confirmed).

IK Multimedia Brings Lurssen Mastering Console to Mac — IK Multimedia announced Tuesday mastering software for Mac and Windows called Lurssen Mastering Console. The release brings the tools released on iPad first to Mac (and PC). Lurssen Mastering Console was designed to let you master audio tracks, “using a digital model of the chain and settings used byGavin Lurssen, Reuben Cohen and the team at multi-Grammy Award-winning Lurssen Mastering in Los Angeles, CA.” The software is available now for US$199/€199.99 from IK Multimedia.

Western Digital’s 8TB hard drives mix helium with mammoth storage — Western Digital is rising to new storage heights with helium-filled 8TB hard drives designed for consumer NAS boxes and external drives set-ups. The NAS options are not yet available, but WD is already selling the 8TB external drives at select retailers and online under the My Book line.
